Dr. Mansour Gholami, Iran’s Minister of Science, Research and Technology appointed Dr. Mehdi Abtahi to the presidency of Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) in an official decree. Developing the international relations of ISTT and its settled companies, accommodating the needed conditions to the settlement of credible international companies at ISTT, improving the quantitative and qualitative services provided by ISTT to its tenant companies and simultaneously developing the quantitative presence of these institutes in regional, national and international markets, as well as strengthening relations and cooperation with local authorities and organizations were part of the hopes expressed by the Minister to be achieved by the newly appointed president.
Dr. Mehdi Abtahi is a faculty member of the Civil Engineering Department of Isfahan University of Technology (IUT).
He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering and his Masters and Ph.D. in Civil Transport and Transportation from Iran University of Science and Technology.
Dr. Abtahi has had more than 70 published articles in national and international scientific publications and conferences. He has authored 3 books and is the patent holder of 5 different inventions.
Prior to this appointment he has been the IUT Vice President for student affairs for the period of 2001-2005 and also the IUT Vice President for Research and Technology since 2013.
Dr. Mehdi Keshmiri, the ex-president of ISTT was also promoted to assume the position of Deputy of Technological Affairs for the Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology. From this position he oversees domestic policy making and planning in relation to technological affairs at the Ministry of SRT.
